A soft, sweet whisper of "I'm scared" was all it took for Thomas Shannon to give in.
He pursed his thin lips into a stern line, turning his head slightly to look at her. "It's very dangerous. Do you still want to tag along?"
Sophie Sullivan felt as if Thomas Shannon had already nodded in agreement. She nodded. "Of course! I want to be with you through thick and thin!"
With a scoff, Thomas Shannon patted her raised buttocks. "Get down."
Unlike the previous stern command, this time, there was an additional word, which implied a totally different meaning.
Sophie Sullivan eagerly slid down from his broad back, gripping the corner of his shirt tightly. "So you're taking me with you, right?"
"Isn't the answer already obvious?" Thomas Shannon gave her a look as if she were an idiot.
Sophie Sullivan didn't mind his disdain. She pressed her lips into a smile. "Then I'll go wash up now!"
Humming an unfamiliar tune, Sophie Sullivan skipped cheerfully into the bath chamber.
