The cave laboratory remained as dim as ever, the generator humming continuously.
Wade sat on the floor, breathing heavily. The icy blue light in his eyes faded, white mist escaped his mouth, and the dozen or so air blades hovering in mid-air trembled with his breath.
In front of the stone platform, beneath the panel pried open on Translucent's back, his pale spine and bright red muscles were clearly visible.
"Damn turtle shell... this guy has probably developed his ability beyond the advanced level." Wade cursed softly and spat twice. "I'm exhausted!"
To pry an opening in this carbon metamaterial panel, he had frantically used his [Freeze Vision] and [Fire Breath] abilities, repeatedly tempering it for hours using the principle of thermal expansion and contraction. Only then did a crack finally form inside.
With an opening, the subsequent skinning and bone extraction became much simpler.
After resting for a moment, Wade picked up a syringe as thick as an arm, inserted it into the intervertebral space, and began to suck out the precious white bone marrow.
"There's no such thing as indestructible; it's just that the right superpower hasn't been encountered yet."
After drawing a full tube of spinal marrow, he followed the procedure to prepare and extract the superpower genome from Translucent's marrow.
"Let's see what the essential difference is between Vought's star product and mine."
He tried to replicate the previous genetic modular potion formulation. Using the [Fire Sneeze] gene sample ordered by Mena as a base, he introduced the [Invisibility Cortex] gene fragment freshly extracted from Translucent's spinal marrow.
The equipment whirred, and the solution spun and precipitated in the centrifuge tube.
A vial of exceptionally cloudy white potion shimmered quietly before his eyes.
He took a small drop and placed it in his palm.

[Temporary Superpower Potion (Basic Grade)]
[Function: 10% chance to grant invisibility and diamond-level physical defense, 10% chance to grant fire sneezing, and 80% chance to grant a random ability]
[Duration: Approximately 1 hour]
[Status: Unstable]
"Damn it!" Wade slammed his fist onto the stone platform. "How is this any different from a random product like compound v? It has absolutely no research value!"
He stared at the cloudy potion, anxiously recalling every detail of the last time he made a potion.
Why did mixing a trash ability like [Fire Sneeze] with a top-tier material like Translucent's [Invisibility Cortex] result in such a mess?
All his previous successful potions used core materials from his own spinal marrow extract; those isolated genes were ones he had already absorbed.
Whereas this vial used "raw materials" containing compound v drawn directly from Translucent.
A thought flashed through Wade's mind like an electric current:
"It's not that the man-made or extracted materials are bad, it's that these 'raw materials' are disobedient! They need... a powerful 'universal translator'."
"Does that mean... only my spinal fluid can formulate a stable potion?"
Without a word, he forcibly deactivated his defensive abilities and stuck a needle directly into his own spine, drawing a small tube of spinal marrow that emitted a faint golden glow.
With the help of his [Blood Control] ability, Wade worked for an hour, sequentially extracting all the superpower genomes contained within.
He immediately changed the base, using the superpower gene of another useless ability, [Frosty Dick], and integrated Translucent's [Invisibility Cortex] gene once more.
Then, he took a drop of pure spinal fluid solution—containing no other superpower genomes—and added it to the base solution.
The centrifuge hummed again. Wade stared intently at the spinning machine, muttering, "Gold, gold, gold..."
A silver potion with a pure shimmer and uniform texture slowly took shape. Wade felt his heart skip a beat.
He removed the test tube and took a drop with a dropper.

"Success! It actually worked!"
An indescribable sense of excitement rushed to his head. Wade couldn't help but throw a few punches into the air, his suppressed roars echoing through the cave.
This showed his thinking was correct. His own original genetic solution was indeed the key "key" that could leverage and temporarily stabilize these powerful external genes.
"Wait, maybe it's just that useless abilities are incompatible with Translucent's superpower genes. Let's try something else."
Subsequently, Wade made a bold attempt, mixing Translucent's [Carbon Metamaterial Cortex] gene directly with the [Werewolf Transformation] gene without using any of his own components as a medium.
A minute later, the centrifuge hummed, and the mixture inside the test tube rapidly turned cloudy, growing darker and darker.
Poof—Pop!
With a loud pop, a pungent burnt smell filled the cave.
Wade's finger touched the black sludge stuck to the stone slab.
[Analysis... Genetic Rejection!]
Effect: Genetic collapse, rapid mutation
Genetic sequences are completely randomized, with an extremely high risk of uncontrollable mutation!]
"Failure! A total failure!"
Wade stood before the messy workbench and laughed heartily.
"Hahaha, so that's how it is..."
He understood that the genes he acquired and fused into himself were all marked with a unique "compatibility stamp."
They were like software adapted for the same operating system; though their functions differed, their underlying protocols were compatible, allowing them to coexist.
Whereas the raw genes extracted directly from Translucent's bone marrow originated from Vought Corporation's compound v—raw, crude, and full of aggression and exclusivity.
Like an arrogant dictator, they refused to share the same living space with any other genes bearing a different "brand." Once they met, it was a life-and-death struggle, triggering random mutations.
"My body isn't just a gene bank... it's a universal interface card and a formatting factory."
Wade muttered to himself, his thoughts suddenly clearing.
"External 'wild' genes must undergo my 'formatting' through absorption and fusion to become part of a unique universal genome that is compatible with others."
"This even solves the secrecy of the potion formula. Without my original stem cells, no one else can formulate a targeted, stable temporary superpower potion!"
A brand-new, systematic blueprint was clearly outlined in his mind.
The path to creating powerful, stable potions wasn't simply stacking strong genes. It required three steps: finding a high-quality "blank container" as the base provider; embedding the required "functional modules," which are the ability providers; and then using my "universal golden key" as a genetic stabilizer to activate them.
Wade's hunting targets changed completely from that moment on.
To him, Godolkin University's influence rankings and Vought Corporation's city-guarding heroes were no longer rankings of strength, but a list of rare materials.
Who were the potential "high-quality bases"?
Those with single, pure abilities? Or those with multiple composite abilities?
Within The Seven, Starlight's light energy, A-Train's super speed, The Deep's amphibious nature... and Homelander, he might be the ultimate collection of the perfect "base" and "modules." He himself was an all-around superhuman created by Vought Corporation... By studying him thoroughly, the final technical barrier could be broken, and an all-around temporary superpower potion could be developed.
"Your bones are even more useful than I expected... I must squeeze you dry!" Wade steadied his mind, walked over to Translucent, and slowly inserted several bags of nutritional IV fluids into his back, setting the flow rate to the slowest.
After working for another hour, he cleared away the experimental waste and used the remaining tube of Translucent's spinal fluid to formulate a brand-new Type III individual potion.
The formulation mode changed to "4+2," a combination of four effective abilities and two useless abilities.
1. Shadow Bug 2.0
Core Superpower Gene Combination: Phantom Generation + Insect Control + Levitation + Invisibility Cortex + Freezing Dick + Color-Changing Eyebrows
2. Guardian Bear 2.0
Core Superpower Gene Combination: Bear Transformation + Hardened Epidermis + Invisibility Cortex + Rapid Healing + Glowing Thumb + Ice Crystal Soles
3. Wolf Strike 2.0
Core Superpower Gene Combination: Werewolf Transformation + Super Strength/Agility + Invisibility Cortex + Fire Sneeze + Foul Odor Shroud
"This configuration is more than enough to show the military in the early stages." Wade neatly tucked over a dozen potions into a metal box, stuffed it into his backpack, turned to walk out of the cave, and raised his hand to activate [Gravity Rock Bind].
The rocks at the cave entrance moved as commanded. After leaving a few air vents diagonally above, he completely sealed the exit.
Having finished the cleanup, Wade manipulated the air currents to lift his body into the air and sped off toward Godolkin University.
"It's time to go back and explore 'The Woods' laboratory..."
The cold wind whipped against him, and clouds whistled past. A brand-new desire for exploration surged fiercely in his heart.
"As the old saying from my previous life goes... when an opportunity is before you, you must seize it!"
