Alexander stood at the doorway, trying to listen in on what George Gates and Nina Rice were chatting about so happily.
Unfortunately, George Gates and Nina Rice weren't loud talkers, and aside from occasionally hearing Nina's laughter, Alexander couldn't catch what they were saying.
"Why make the courtyard so big?" Alexander looked at Jane Sampson, "Is it to show that you're rich enough to buy such a large piece of land?"
Jane Sampson rolled her eyes dramatically at Alexander.
Fine, she wouldn't argue with a man who was about to break up and thus had a severe hormonal imbalance, seeing everything in a negative light.
Jane Sampson took James Black's arm and walked inside.
Nina Rice and George Gates were sitting in the courtyard talking, so as soon as Jane Sampson and James Black entered, Nina noticed them.
"Jane." Nina waved toward Jane Sampson.
Jane Sampson and James Black walked directly over to them.
