"You deserve it, because you took on the risk that no one else dared to take." In his heart, James Black truly admired Old Sir Carter.
Old Sir Carter had shouldered a risk no one dared to bear. Faced with an outcome he had more or less already foreseen, he still never backed down.
In a moment of crisis, he hadn't chosen to save only himself, so now, he rightfully enjoyed the glory.

Even James Black couldn't help having another bowl of meal.
Ever since Jane Sampson's pregnancy, James Black really couldn't bear to let Jane Sampson step into the kitchen again. He was afraid that if at some time she suddenly got sleepy and drowsy while chopping and cooking, she might accidentally hurt herself.
When Jane Sampson was accompanying him at the base, she was the only one in the dormitory. If she really did get hurt, it would be hard for him to discover it at the first time.
