After breakfast, James Black went back to the bedroom to change into his morning run clothes, while Jane Sampson was already dressed up and ready to leave.
She was used to telling James before going out, so she waited for him for a while in the living room.
But usually, he changes clothes like magic, and even though today he has been in there for two minutes, he still hasn't come out, making Jane feel like James is unusually slow and this is something he wouldn't normally do.
She then walked to James and asked, "Why are you changing clothes so slowly today? I just wanted to tell you I'm leaving, and I won't be back for lunch at noon, so you don't have to bring me a meal from the dining hall."
"Come here." James called Jane over, then took out the simple belt she had bought for him and handed it to her, "You bought it, you help me put it on."
"Are you serious?" Jane stood there dumbfounded, she thought James was joking that day.
