James Black was indeed tired, during the execution of the mission, he hardly dared to sleep well.
Last night he came back late, woke up early this morning, and being in the house, his whole self was in a relaxed state, so the exhaustion from long lack of proper rest really swept over him.
Lying in the bed, he turned so that the injured side was facing up, stretched out his hand, and pulled Jane Sampson into his arms.
In those long nights, James Black countless times yearned for such moments.
Their home, a bed, he holding her as they fell asleep.
Her hair's fragrance, her breathing, they both made his heart at ease.
"Close your eyes and sleep for a while." James Black kissed the top of her head.
Jane Sampson saw that James Black was truly tired, so she didn't speak to disturb him further. Within just a few breaths, she felt that James Black had quickly fallen asleep.
After he slept, his frown relaxed, and his head subconsciously tilted toward her direction.
