She laughed, "So even though I felt a bit tired, I never thought about asking you for help. Back then, I was really just praying that you'd show up on the wedding day, and it'd be best if you went back to the guard team the next day after the wedding."
As she said this, Jane Sampson's laughter gradually grew louder, and she looked quite smug.
"If we were like this before the marriage," Jane Sampson mischievously raised her eyebrows, "you'd be doomed."
James Black let out a low hum, silently watching Jane Sampson, with a softness in his eyes.
His palm rested on the top of her head, gently ruffling her hair occasionally. She didn't speak further, just hummed an off-key tune and pressed her face against his chest, clearly in a good mood.
After a while, she suddenly raised her head, poked his chest with her finger, and muttered, "Your heartbeat, so noisy."
