Aldana Candi's pupils contracted slightly for a moment, as a hint of bitterness slowly spread in her heart, a taste she couldn't quite place.
She turned her face away, looking at the void not far away, her voice very light, "You two are married, you have to be responsible for each other. You've let down so many women in your life, don't let your own wife down too."
Philip Shaw suddenly tightened his grip on her shoulders, his chest heaved slightly, and he said to her, "I never saw her as my wife!"
Aldana Candi closed her eyes, simply saying, "In three days, you two will be married."
"That's just a ceremony."
"The marriage certificate isn't fake." She interrupted him, "I shouldn't stay here, Philip Shaw, you should let me go."
His heart clenched lightly, a feeling of distress spreading in his chest. He looked at her tired expression, lowered his head, and kissed her cheek tenderly, "I'll handle it, trust me, I won't let you suffer."
