"If we leave this island." Liam Summer walked over, crouched down and held her hand, meeting her gaze, "Whose side do you want to be on?"
Aldana Candi seemed bewildered for a moment, "Will you be leaving the island?"
Liam Summer chuckled, "Andrew and I are just here for a holiday, we won't be staying on the island forever."
Aldana Candi looked at him, then asked, "Will Steven Balance allow you to take me away?"
Liam Summer shook his head and lowered his eyes to look at Aldana Candi's hand under his grip, "I don't know. I've never asked him for anything before, but if this is the first thing I ask, perhaps he will agree."
Aldana Candi smiled, "He won't agree."
Liam Summer lifted his gaze to her; her delicate face bore a soft and gentle smile, crimson lips against a pale complexion, her features exuding calm yet forlorn under the dim play of light and shadow.
