Steven Balance looked at her for a while, then gently sighed. He stood up, ruffled her hair, reluctant to leave.
He left, looking back at every step.
Liam Summer's room was more familiar to her than Steven Balance's.
She was well-acquainted with Liam Summer's routine and knew he wouldn't come out of the lab at this time.
Aldana Candi lay down on the bed and pulled the blanket over herself to sleep.
She didn't know how long she had slept, but she heard the door open in the next room, groggily opening her eyes to see Liam Summer stepping out of the lab.
He turned on the light, walked over, and took off the white coat he was wearing, hanging it on the coat rack, his tone gentle: "Did I disturb you?"
"A little..."
Liam Summer chuckled softly, walked over, and scooped her up from the bed: "Shall I take you for a bath to wake you up a bit?"
Aldana Candi looked at his smiling face, her lips moved slightly but made no sound.
