Norris Moore sat on the hospital bed hugging her knees, her face pallid due to just regaining consciousness. The scabs on her face scattered finely across her skin, making her seem pitiful and haggard.
Hearing the door open, she looked over in his direction. Unable to see, her gaze was empty, and her helpless appearance was heart-wrenching.
He walked over and pulled her into his arms, kissing the top of her head softly, and said warmly, "The doctor says your vision will gradually recover. Your eyes haven't suffered irreversible damage."
In front of Norris Moore, was the dim gray shadow of night; she couldn't see anything. Only by being close to this man could she feel at ease.
She clutched Trenton Smith's clothes, and asked softly, "What's wrong with my eyes?"
"The initial diagnosis is damage to the retina caused by direct exposure to strong light." Trenton frowned, "Are you stupid? Staring at the explosion source like that, do you not want your eyes?"
