The air suddenly became charged with tension because of their gaze.
Norris withdrew her gaze and softly called, "Trenton..."
Trenton raised his hand to gently stroke the top of her hair, then released her and stood up from the chair.
Unexpectedly, footsteps sounded from outside the door.
For a moment, the people inside the room were silent.
Norris looked up toward the doorway.
Steven had left, so was someone going to let them leave?
"In a bit, follow my people carefully, and don't wander off," Trenton lowered his head and looked at her, his voice steady and deep, "It might be chaotic outside. Stay with them, and they will lead you to meet up with me."
"Where are you going?" Norris immediately looked up at him, "Are you going too?"
"Silly girl." He ruffled her hair with a low laugh, his tone affectionate, "Didn't I promise you I'd bring her back?"
"Will there be danger?" Norris furrowed her brow slightly, unable to help feeling worried.
