Aldana shifted her gaze to Steven Balance's face and asked cautiously in a soft voice, "You'll let them go, right?"
Steven Balance looked down at her and smiled faintly, "You asked me to release Ellen, and I agreed. Now you're asking me to release so many more people; what can you offer me now?"
Aldana glanced at Norris Moore, who was watching her anxiously, and then asked in a low voice, "What do you think I can still give you?"
"I can let them go, naturally. But I want you to never be with Philip Shaw, no matter who you are with in the future." He looked at her momentary stunned expression, his smile deepening, "What's the matter? Can't bear to part with him?"
Aldana shook her head, only softly saying, "Nothing. I'm just a bit puzzled. Is this the price you want?"
This request was so simple that… it could be fulfilled without any effort.
