Rufus Swallow felt that this little girl could really have a way of stabbing people right in the heart sometimes.
"Are you messing with me right now, or are you telling the truth?"
Aria Lulu pressed her lips together and stared at him for a moment. Her gaze was deep, as if trying to see through to his very soul.
"I'm messing with you, but I'm also telling the truth. I don't want to wait for you anymore. I want to start a new relationship."
It had taken her a whole year to finally come to this decision—a delay that was, to put it mildly, ridiculous.
She should've cut ties clean the moment she realized he liked Norris Moore instead of dragging it out to this point.
A whole year wasted, making herself look so pathetic in the process. It was laughable, really.
"Do you think anyone else would spoil you like I do? Do you think another man would treat you the way I have?"
"What's the point of you spoiling me if you don't even love me?!"
Aria Lulu bit down hard on her lip.
