Watching Norris being called upstairs by Trenton, Aria handed the baby she was holding to the servant. Seeing Rufus still staring at Norris's back, she smirked and said, "If you like her so much, now that there's no longer any blood relation between you two, why not stage a wedding hijack?"
Rufus withdrew his gaze, turned his head to glance at Aria, and walked over. He raised his hand as if to touch the top of her head, but she blocked him with her hand. Her tone was calm as she said, "Don't touch me."
Rufus looked at her expression and sighed. "Jealous? I already told you that if you're not comfortable, you really didn't need to come."
"Why wouldn't I come? I wanted to see the heartbreak on your face when the woman you love marries someone else. I almost forgot—you were this close to marrying her once. If you'd known earlier that you weren't blood-related, you probably would've slept with her by now, right?"
