After talking to this inexplicable person on the phone, Tilly Flower conveyed Charles Green's words to Trenton Smith.
She originally intended to offer Trenton some comfort, but to her surprise, the man showed hardly any reaction upon hearing it.
He leaned against the head of the bed, eyes slightly closed, his face pale from the injury, showing little emotional change.
"Tilly Flower," he said softly, "I might be a bit tired."
Tilly Flower subconsciously replied, "Mmm, if you are tired, you should rest, I won't disturb you..." She slowly realized and looked at Trenton, at a loss for what to say next.
"I still love her very much." He said with his eyes half-closed, his tone calm and somewhat indifferent, emotionless as if he was simply narrating, "But I don't know what the point is in my insistence. It feels like I hurt her every time."
Tilly Flower fell silent, looking at his pale, almost translucent skin, the pallor making him appear rather haggard.
