Chapter 6 - THE DAY WOES BEGAN

Meanwhile in the throne room...........

As the sun's rays danced upon the golden throne in the grand chamber, the king awaited the emissaries from the neighboring kingdom. Rumors had spread far and wide of their intentions—to propose a trade, one that they believed would be more beneficial to them.

As the doors creaked open, the air filled with the scent of intrigue and the pride of power. The emissaries, adorned in fine garments with the Great king's special messenger, a tall and confident man, bowed before the king and settled down.

With wine and assorted treats placed before them, the messenger began his speech, laying out the details of their proposed trade alliance. He spoke of riches, exotic goods, and the promise of strengthening our lands through this partnership.

This partnership included trades that would be more benefiting to them and not to the people of crjstal aluminum, even though it was the Great King's order that we deal with them, it would mean that we would get only 30 percent of out trades and exports.

The King listened intently, but the more he spoke, the more King Wsalf became convinced that this was not a deal that suited my kingdom. Their terms were too favorable for them, and he couldn't ignore the underlying motives. It was evident they sought to capitalize on our resources without providing equal value in return. The idea of such a proposition infuriated me.

With a firm tone, King Wsalf cut him off mid-sentence, my voice echoing through the chamber,

'Your offer, while undoubtedly tempting to some, lacks the essence of true cooperation. I am not here to be a pawn in your grand scheme, nor will I allow my kingdom to be taken advantage of'.

The emissaries, taken aback by his brusque refusal, exchanged uneasy glances. But the king continued, my resolve unwavering,

'Our lands are not a marketplace for opportunistic barter. We stand strong, with or without your empty promises. If the great King so wishes then he should come down by himself and make this deal but I tell you this my kingdom will have at least ninety percent of the profits.'

The great King, the tempestuous ruler of the second in charge ruling kingdom, was known for his fiery temper. King Wsalf had struck a chord with a dismissive attitude, igniting a rage that he couldn't contain.

The room fell silent, the tension palpable. The emissaries, now realizing the futility of their mission, withdrew with a humbled demeanor. As the doors closed behind them, king Wsalf remained seated on his majestic throne, proud and unwavering, with a stink of regret in his eyes.

                                       ★

The emissaries returned to their kingdom, tails between their legs, bearing the disgraceful news of king Wsalf's "rudeness." Little did they know that their petulant King would now face the consequences of his arrogance.

The great King's face turned crimson as he declared his intentions. 'That insolent King Wsalf dares to humiliate us? We shall not stand for such insolence! Prepare our forces, gather our allies, and let it be known that we march to claim what is rightfully ours'. His voice resonated with a chilling determination, sending shivers down the spines of those who served under him.

His once calculated approach shifted to a warpath, vowing to take everything crjstal aluminum held dear by sheer force. He saw King Wsalf's defiance as a challenge, one he was determined to answer with brutal might.

The drums of war began to beat, echoing the inevitable clash that would follow.

                                   ★

Brjstaljh, Ryoka accompanied by her brother and I visited Kabjnj mom In the garden tea room. We had a lot of fun enjoying the little good moments not aware of what was about to come tomorrow. As thunder sounds from the cloud, the weather changing, it was about to rain, not blood but just water drops today.

After the rain subsided, the afternoon sun was hot, so hot you could literally feel your scalp burning. Brjstaljh and mother went out to stroll in the town, mother never took me to view the kingdom, unlike Brjstaljh.

I decided to distance myself from critics to why I rejected father's gift and have a little'me'time.

There I laid on the grass of the courtyard meters away from the king's majestic fountain sculpted in his own figure. My long silvery silky hair scattered on the ground, my tender smooth skin adoring the rays of the scorching sun.

    I said to myself;

' what a bright day it is, I hope nothing ruins this perfect day'

The other princesses were dancing and singing at the other side of the courtyard, almost thirty-eight of the princesses from our kingdom were already married to other kingdoms both wealthy and middle class, that's why our trade and businesses were successful.

The two most popular princesses in the castle Gevina and Asij were already being groomed, Asij's marriage was fixed with a  handsome prospective prince and gevina with a powerful king from across the world.

Other princesses and the townspeople dream of marrying a prince or a king but mine was different. I always dreamt of being a warrior knight, the first actually.

I haven't actually perfected my fighting skills but I'm improving, last year I literally sucked but things are starting to change for the better.....I guess.

'Mother and brjstaljh still weren't back' I said while adjusting my cup holder. I just came out of the bath, Ryoka and my other friends went to the dining room but I decided to skip it for no absolute reason at all.

I didn't have a full bust but my size was moderate for a twelve year old, after all we mature very quickly in my kingdom. I recently just started my monthly blood loss, I guess I'm a woman now....or a lady.

I applied the special body milk on my skin and adjusted my panties, I wore my knee length leggings and my long sleeved cotton shirt decorated with flowery patterns.

While in the bath earlier I heard a rumour of father refusing the great King, some said he was waging a war with him; I hope that isn't true because we would never stand a chance at war with them.

                                        ★

Still bored asf waiting for mother to come back, 'I hope they aren't in some sort of trouble',  they usually don't take this long to return, the moon was already about to rise.

As the setting sun cast long shadows across the landscape, I stood up, yawned, ready to return to my room unaware of the impending doom. The air was thick with an eerie calm, a deceptive stillness that masked the storm brewing on the horizon. Unbeknownst to us, the great kingdom had hatched a sinister plan.

Under cover of darkness, their forces had stealthily infiltrated our kingdom, slipping through the gaps in our defenses like shadows in the night. The moon hung low, its pale light revealing nothing of the impending threat as I gazed out across the darkened fields from the courtyard.

                                      ★

In the quiet sanctuary of my room, I was oblivious to the doom that was about to shatter our peaceful kingdom. The soft glow of candlelight cast dancing shadows on the walls, creating an atmosphere of comfort and serenity. Unbeknownst to me, chaos had begun to unfurl beyond those closed doors.

A distant clamor, like the muffled echo of thunder, reached my ears, but I dismissed it as the usual bustling of the town's folk. Little did I know that the source of the disturbance was far more sinister—a shadowy tide of enemies, disguised as fellow villagers, infiltrating our town under the cover of night.

Thinking of what took mother and sister so long, I peeped out the window to hear what was making everyone so lively about tonight, I could see the town engulfed in flames, I paced uneasily, my heart quickening with each distant shout and clash of arms.

In the distance, torches flared to life, revealing the ominous silhouettes of the invading army, the whisper of their armor lost in the night. A tidal wave of warriors surged forward, crashing against our unprepared defenses.

From the safety of my room, I had witnessed the unraveling of our kingdom, o could see people running around, some covered in blood, some women mourning their children. The enemies didn't have any mercy to anyone slaughtering all in their sight.

My eyes opened wider, and my blood turned to ice. The clash of swords and the distant cries of battle marked the end of an era, leaving me with a profound sense of loss and determination. The sanctuary of my room had sheltered me from the initial chaos, but it also became a witness to the tragedy that had befallen us. And as the world outside raged with conflict, I knew that I couldn't remain hidden any longer.

The sound of clashing steel echoed in the corridor, the enemies had reached the castle. The great kingdom's clandestine invasion had caught us off guard, leaving us vulnerable. I knew I had to make a move, as I panicked in the room I could hear distant cries and screams from within the castle's walls.

I hurriedly removed my shoes to avoid detection, I reached out to a dagger under the pillow and hid behind the door.

   Bang!!!

One of the enemies pushed the door, with him a sword soaked with blood patrolling my room. He was so huge, how could I compare my dagger to his sword. And so, I used that opportunity to slip outside the room unnoticed. The clash outside was a cacophony of torment, a symphony composed of agonized screams and the wet, sickening sound of steel meeting flesh. Blood-soaked corridors whispered the tale of unspeakable horror, every step a descent into a madness forged by the clash's brutality.

I moved with the phantom of death on my heels, each footfall a grotesque serenade to the enemy patrols that roamed like scavengers. Faces contorted in twisted glee, splattered with the crimson aftermath of their merciless spree. The stench of death was omnipresent, mingling with the rancid odor of spilled intestines and seeping into my very pores.

I could see the still bodies of people I grew up with it, all men were slaughtered, both princes and slaves like they were equals from start. I heard distant marching so I creeped into another corridor by the left. I started hearing screams and noises from a room, it sounded like those of women.

I had stumbled upon a scene that would forever haunt my dreams: some of my fellow step sisters stripped from head to toe and forced to lay with the soldiers who slaughtered our kingdom. It was hell, they were deflowered and beaten up. I watched as different men had turns with each. My legs started shaking.

''hey you! Capture that one!!!' one of them yelled after seeing my standing defenseless in front of the room door. As one was about to grab me, I felt helpless, I couldn't feel my legs anymore......was I going to suffer the same fate?
