Old Madam Loman figured Annie Taylor just wanted to go get breakfast ready for the old man, but when she heard Annie hadn't eaten yet either, she couldn't very well stop her anymore. She quickly pulled her over and said, "You sit first, I'll go get it ready for you, I'll go."
"Grandma, I'll go with you. I've got nothing to do anyway."
"Alright, alright. How are Lucas and Ronald doing lately? Why didn't Ronald come over…"
"Ronald went to go to work, his job's pretty busy. Lucas is going to school too. I'll bring him over to see you next time."
The two of them chatted as they walked all the way to the Kitchen. Old Madam Loman glanced at the old man and made sure to pull the Kitchen door shut.
Over there, Old Master Loman, who'd been holding his ears up listening to their conversation the whole time, heard the Kitchen door close and for a moment couldn't hear anything anymore. He couldn't help cursing to himself.
