A single sentence was like a bolt from the blue, a cataclysm for Alexandra Lee.
She looked up at Shane Winchester's face, his dark features as familiar and gentle as always, yet he patiently waited for her answer, as if her preferences genuinely mattered to him.
But it was this same man, who smiled warmly at her now, who could turn utterly ruthless in an instant.
No, rather than saying he was ruthless, it was more accurate to say his gentleness lacked warmth. Yet, even knowing this gentleness was all too elusive, one couldn't help but dive in headfirst, reluctant to leave.
"Not hungry anymore?" Shane Winchester spoke again.
Alexandra Lee hesitated slightly, clenched her fist, and finally, softly said, "I am."
"Then let's go, I reserved a restaurant yesterday, heard it's quite good."
Alexandra Lee lightly held onto Shane Winchester's arm and left with him, as if none of what happened before had ever occurred.
Yet compared to before, Alexandra Lee was a tad more silent.
