"Mommy, I'm okay," Lily wrote on paper. "How did you find this place?"
"I have my ways of finding you, of course." Sylvia tenderly touched Lily's head. "Baby, don't change the subject; tell Mommy what happened. What's wrong with your voice, and why did Mrs. Lucas treat you that way?!"
Sylvia had many questions, and Lily couldn't answer them all at once, so Sadie spoke on her behalf.
After hearing Sadie's explanation, Sylvia angrily grabbed her cell phone.
"No, I must call your daddy. He has to do something about A City..."
As soon as Lily heard Sylvia mentioning informing Duke Redington, she immediately stopped her.
"Ah ah... ah ah ah..." Lily was desperate; she couldn't speak and was hoarsely screaming.
Hearing her baby's hoarse voice, Sylvia's eyes reddened with urgency.
"Baby, don't talk... don't talk... Look at you, your voice is so hoarse, why are you still talking..." Sylvia was heartbreakingly concerned.
Lily tugged at her, pointing to the cell phone in her hand.
