"You're not staying at home, where are you planning to go?" Emily Taylor grabbed Mr. Lucas, panic evident in her eyes.
Mr. Lucas took the overcoat handed to him by Ellie and said nonchalantly, "Of course, I'll be wherever Lily is. Mom, I'm staying at the movie studio tonight and won't be coming back."
"You... you're staying at the movie studio?!"
Emily Taylor almost fainted, she had never expected her son, upon learning that Lily wasn't home, would make such a decision.
If she had known earlier, she would have made up a location further away.
"What, is there a problem?" Mr. Lucas donned his overcoat and then finally cast his eyes downwards towards Emily Taylor.
That glance was enough to see the fearful and uneasy expression in Emily Taylor's eyes.
"No, no problem... of course no problem..." Emily's eyes darted left and right, as she thought about how to keep her son at home.
Mr. Lucas narrowed his eyes slightly and asked in a deep voice, "What's wrong, Mom? You look pale."
