"It's almost dawn. I've got Ningning covered. You should get some sleep."
Even though Ningning is out of danger, An Ziqi still feels uneasy and can't sleep.
She closes her eyes under Xiao Moli's warm hand and quietly leans against his chest.
Listening to his steady heartbeat, she feels exceptionally at ease.
The two keep vigil on the sofa all night, and the sky starts to lighten early the next morning.
As soon as Xiao Moli moves, An Ziqi immediately rises.
Seeing the dark circles under her eyes, Xiao Moli raises his hand and gently rubs under her eyes with his thumb, "Stubborn."
"I'm just worried about Ningning," An Ziqi softly says.
Just as she's about to get up and check on Ningning in the hospital bed, Xiao Moli holds her down.
"Don't move."
An Ziqi has no choice but to sit back down on the sofa and watch Xiao Moli leave the room.
A few minutes later, the door opens again, and Xiao Moli enters holding a pair of brand-new slippers.
