Parents were busy teaching the children how to make sky lanterns, then guiding their hands to write wishes inside them. Some people were placing river lanterns in the small creek at the village entrance.
With her eyes closed, she silently prayed and perhaps made her own wishes.
An Ziqi's face lit up with a slight smile.
"Do you want to release a lantern? I can teach you how to make one." A simple voice sounded beside her.
An Ziqi turned her head and realized that Aunt Li, who had been standing next to her, had disappeared at some point.
In her place was the son of Grandpa Zhang, holding the frame and materials for making a sky lantern, a slightly embarrassed smile on his honest face.
"Uh, thank you, but no need."
An Ziqi smiled and declined. She and Aunt Li came out mainly to deliberately tease Xiao Moli and didn't really mean anything else.
The villagers are sincere, and she didn't want to give him the wrong idea, so refusing was the best option.
