"Young miss, young miss, wake up!" the maid called out, her voice tight with fear.
"Hey, the young miss seems to be having a hard time sleeping! I think she is having a nightmare," another maid whispered urgently.
"What should we do?"
"Call Princess Rubby or Prince Ethan!" another suggested.
Trapped in the deep recesses of her mind, Jessy was still locked in the vivid nightmare. She saw her mother, covered in blood, pleading with her. In her heart, Jessy desperately wanted to believe it was just a bad dream, but the sheer terror of the vision wouldn't let her break free. Her skin was drenched in sweat, forcing the maids to quickly use hot water to help regulate her rising temperature.
After a little while, the fever broke and she dozed off into a peaceful, restorative slumber. When she finally opened her eyes hours later, she felt light, refreshed, and entirely relieved.
