"Why?" Randall couldn't fathom Kiya's intentions at all.
Unlike the old, indecisive Sultan, Kiya had remarkable achievements and a good reputation, and he managed Abyanabad in an orderly manner. Randall couldn't figure out why Kiya suddenly wanted to abdicate.
"Reasons that are hard to speak of."
With his mother and wife at such odds and the scandal behind it all unspeakable, Kiya naturally had no face to reveal those things he had deliberately hidden.
"Do you really intend to abdicate?" Randall still couldn't believe it.
The Sultan's position is too tempting, too many people covet it, yet the man before him said he didn't want to be Sultan anymore. How could Randall not doubt it?
What exactly does this man want to do?
"How could I joke about such a thing?" Kiya looked at Randall, saying seriously, "It's true! I want to abdicate, and I hope you can succeed as Sultan."
"Why me?" Randall realized Kiya was serious and not joking at all, and Kiya didn't know about that matter.
