Adrian Desmond was on the phone outside and didn't hear. Curly shouted again loudly,
"Dad, Little Monster is hurt!"
Adrian didn't come in, and Curly said, "Dad can't hear. Let me hold Little Monster so Dad can see him."
For Curly, Sheehan wasn't light, and Curly naturally couldn't carry him horizontally like an adult. Curly helped Sheehan up, his arm extending from under Sheehan's armpit, lifting him up.
George asked, "Can you carry him?"
"Of course! I'm a strongman!"
Curly carried Sheehan, naked and still with water droplets on him, outside. It was autumn, and the temperature differed significantly between day and night. At night, one needed a blanket to sleep, and taking Sheehan out like this, he would likely catch cold and get sick.
