"Baby!" Hearing that she was leaving, Noah cried out her nickname in anguish. Sienna couldn't even bring herself to look at him. She stood up, gave a slight bow to Mrs. Phillips, and quickly walked outside.
"Goodbye, Noah!"
"Baby, don't go..." Noah got up to chase her, but Mrs. Phillips sternly stopped him. "Noah, what are you trying to do? Wasn't what Sienna just said clear enough?"
"Mom, why do you have to do this? You know my true feelings! I've never asked for anything in my life; I just want to marry the woman I love!"
"She's not good enough for you!"
"I only want her!" Noah, in the end, chased after her. Adrian sighed and said, "Some people won't shed a tear until they see their own coffin."
Adrian could see their tragic ending: a proud woman and a weak man. They were doomed to a sorrowful conclusion.
Mrs. Phillips sat there, her face tight with anger. "Aren't you going after them, Mr. Desmond?"
"They want to talk," Adrian replied. "What would I do there?"
