"Alright."
Adrian Desmond stepped forward and took a swing, his posture elegant and standard, with excellent control of his strength. The ball always landed precisely where he intended.
As the ball landed, Mike exclaimed, "Cool!"
Adrian raised his club, and the caddy hurried over to take it. Adrian then said, "Shall we make a bet? Playing like this is no fun."
"Alright."
"What shall we bet?"
"If you lose, you'll work for my wife for five years; if I lose, I'll work for you for ten years! How about it?" Adrian proposed the wager.
Mike wasn't surprised by Adrian's words. Before his arrival, Adrian had already explained his reason for the invitation: Sienna Johnson's Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory needed a manager. Mike, having always worked in multinational corporations, had little interest in such a small, local enterprise.
