Adrian Desmond recognized Housekeeper Mr. Lucas's voice. Mr. Lucas was not one to make a fuss without reason, so he wouldn't be knocking on their door at such a moment unless it was important.
"Don't go!" Sienna Johnson was also in an awkward, uncomfortable state. How could she let Adrian Desmond leave at a time like this?
"What's the matter?"
Adrian Desmond didn't want to leave either. He bent down and kissed her, and Sienna Johnson cooperated, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Sixth Master, Miss Carpenter has attempted suicide..."
It was like a bomb dropped into a calm lake, sending ripples outwards. Sienna Johnson felt Adrian Desmond stiffen in an instant. Before she could react, Adrian Desmond had swiftly pulled away from her and started throwing on his clothes.
