After Charles finished the recharge, he glanced at the accumulated Ninjutsu Scrolls over time and found that the number had reached a considerable amount—a total of one hundred.
Looking at these scrolls, Charles decided to use them all at once to see if he could unlock a couple of techniques to his satisfaction.
"Open 100 Ninjutsu Scrolls!"
As Charles made the decision, the scrolls in his inventory emitted a dazzling light, and in the next second, they transformed into numerous ninja technique fragments that appeared before him.
There were a hundred fragments in total, including Genjutsu: Darkness Technique, Wood Release: Piercing Technique, Wood Release: Pillar Connection, Water Release: Water Formation, Sealing Technique: Four Limbs Seal, Water Release: Hidden Mist Technique, Release: Dispel, Earth Release: Falling Rock, Earth Movement, Earth Pillar Explosion, Earth Flow Spear, and various other elemental technique fragments, amounting to one hundred pieces.
Without counting each one individually, Charles quickly stored them all and then accessed the scroll section to see which techniques had been unlocked.
At this point, several skills in the scroll section had been activated. Charles checked through them one by one.
Release: Dispel 5/5 - Ready to combine.
Combine!
Ding! Obtained Release: Dispel LV1!
Release: Dispel - A burst of chakra is released from the user's body, dealing damage to nearby enemies and removing any beneficial effects such as invisibility, rage, or speed boosts. It also removes the user's negative statuses and grants a brief speed boost.
Charles was quite satisfied with this technique. It was a powerful ninja skill that not only removed harmful conditions from the user but also dispelled enemy buffs.
It would be extremely useful in combat.
He then turned his attention to the next technique, Genjutsu: Darkness.
Ding! Obtained Genjutsu: Darkness LV1!
Genjutsu: Darkness - An A-rank genjutsu developed by the Second Hokage. Once activated, it creates a dark environment that blinds the opponent, rendering them unable to see anything. Only the caster and their allies can perceive and navigate the surroundings, allowing for easy attacks. Even highly skilled opponents are forced to reveal their position in this pitch-black world.
Two great techniques in a row, Charles was pleased and moved on to the third unlocked technique.
Water Release: Hidden Mist Technique.
Ding! Obtained Water Release: Hidden Mist Technique LV1!
Water Release: Hidden Mist Technique - Gathers moisture from the air to create a thick mist, concealing the user from the enemy's sight.
After unlocking three impressive techniques, Charles continued to review the others.
Techniques like Water Release: Water Formation, Wood Release: Pillar Connection, and Wood Release: Piercing Technique were also unlocked.
After combining three more techniques, Charles's combat abilities had significantly increased.
The Wood Release: Piercing Technique was particularly interesting—it could pin targets to the ground for three seconds, a very control-oriented skill.
In addition, techniques like Mystical Palm Technique, Earth Release: Earth Movement, and Wind Release: Vacuum Wave had all been upgraded to LV2.
Satisfied with the results from this round of scroll unlocking, Charles nodded approvingly.
His ninja squad had completed many missions recently, and he had accumulated substantial rewards.
Now, all he had to do was wait for next month's recruitment to complete, and then he could spar with Hela once more.
…
Meanwhile-
At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters-
Coulson's team had returned. The Triskelion was still being rebuilt, and despite S.H.I.E.L.D.'s fast pace, it would take some time before it could be fully operational again.
Coulson looked at Ward and said, "Ward, you'll be escorting Killer Bee to the Cloud Village's outpost shortly. Also, reach out about the concert and see when Killer Bee plans to hold the next one."
Ward nodded, "Got it, leave it to me."
"As for the others, you can move around in the areas within S.H.I.E.L.D. that you're allowed access to, or stay on the Airbus if you prefer."
Skye spoke up, "Coulson, can I take a walk around the city? It's been a while since I've been to New York."
Coulson glanced at Skye and then said, "Alright, but you must return by the evening and stay in constant communication."
"I can't guarantee that headquarters won't have a mission for us at any moment."
Skye tapped her bone-conduction earpiece, indicating that she could stay in touch at all times.
After giving his instructions, Coulson left and entered the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, heading straight for Nick Fury's office.
Coulson looked at Nick Fury and asked, "What's the next move, Director?"
Leaning back in his chair, Nick Fury put down the files in his hand and said, "The Berserker Staff doesn't belong to us, and that Asgardian Berserker voluntarily gave up his weapon. What else can we do?"
Coulson responded, "Director, we can't let these special items get taken by the ninjas every time, can we?"
"First, it was Michael being taken by the Sound Ninja, and now the staff has been seized by the Leaf Village ninjas."
"What about the next time? Are we just going to keep backing down?"
Nick Fury rubbed his temples, acknowledging the validity of Coulson's concerns.
Should they keep retreating? But what else could they do? They couldn't just launch nukes into the city—especially since even that might not be enough to kill all the ninjas.
After all, they still hadn't figured out which planet the ninja world was on.
"At least this time, the Leaf Village ninjas didn't kill anyone, right?"
"Coulson, we need more time. We need countermeasures."
"We're too weak right now, just like when we faced Asgard."
"Loki started a war, and we didn't even have the authority to judge him."
"At least the ninjas are willing to cooperate with us."
"Asgard, aside from Thor, hasn't given us any support beyond himself."
Coulson fell silent after hearing Fury's words.
Nick Fury was right. Earth was still too weak.
"I understand, Director."
Nick Fury nodded, "Now that you're back, take a day or two to rest. Your team is arguably the strongest we've got, and there will be more missions coming your way soon."
"Yes, Director."
