In the dining room, the conversation turned mundane after Brad and Alicia had gone out. They mostly seemed unperturbed about the absence of the two.
"Shelby dear, can you check in with Rocky and Ava as to when they will arrive?"
"Yes," Shelby said sweetly, and then Ian interrupted,
"Don't worry my wife with trivial things like that. Let Currey do that."
Though Currey was not in the room at that time, no one was surprised that, a few minutes later, he returned as if summoned. He bowed deeply to Geneva, a gesture that was surprising for all the humans in the room.
"There's been some delay, Madam Geneva. Sir Rocky and Miss Ava might not be able to make it as intended."
"That's okay. I should be the one visiting. Our dear Ava has been through a lot, and she needs her rest."
Currey waited till Geneva added,
"Tell them to rest and take care of themselves. We can always meet later."
