Before the Tower of Babel3rd POV
"Well, fuck," said a white-haired man as he looked up at the enormous tower.
That man was our hero — Arthur.
"How in the flying fuck is that tower so fucking gigantic?" he muttered in clear disbelief.
Before entering, he took one last look at his system window:
[Name: Arthur Morgan]
[Gender: Male]
[Age: 16]
[Level: 10 Exp: 0%]
[Title: None]
[Class: Magic Weaponmaster]
[Second Class: None (Unlocks at level 50)]
[HP: 260/260MP: 290/290]
[STR: 12.6 → 20.7]
[VIT: 16.4 → 23.1]
[AGI: 14.7 → 19.8]
[DEX: 13.6 → 18.1]
[MAG: 19.1 → 28.3]
[WIS: 9]
[LUK: 10]
[Stat Points: 40]
'Wait… what's this boost?' he thought, scanning his skills for an explanation.
[Mana Core (Red)
[Grants a random pernament boost between 5 to 10 to all physical stats]
[Grants a random pernament boost between 5 to 10 to magic stat]
"Mhm," he mumbled under his breath upon reading it.
'I almost forgot — in TBATE, when you broke through to a new stage, everything increased regardless of whether you were an Augmenter or Conjurer…' With that thought, he started to smile slightly.
"Sigh..." Taking a deep breath, he muttered, "Time for the dungeon."
Dungeon – 1st Floor1st POV – Arthur
The walls of the first floor were light blue in color, without any particular light source.
Walking along the well-known "beginner's path," Arthur moved calmly, trying to find either some goblins or kobolds — or the stairs to the next floor.
Soon, he heard the sound of monsters spawning from the walls.
Looking toward the emerging green body of a goblin, he quickly pulled up its stats:
[Name: Goblin]
[Level: 2]
[HP: 150/150]
[STR: 1.2]
[VIT: 2.4]
[AGI: 3.5]
[DEX: 2.9]
[MAG: 0]
[WIS: 0]
[LUK: 0]
'I thought they'd be stronger,' he thought as he slashed its neck with a Wind Blade.
[You killed a Level 2 Goblin. You gained 4 EXP.]
Quickly extracting its magic crystal, he used [Observe] on it:
[Name: Magic Crystal (Goblin)]
[Rank: F]
[Description: Useless magic crystal]
'?'
'Wait... is it saying this crystal is useless because it's from the weakest monster? Or does that mean some crystals will be usable?' he wondered, intrigued.
Then, a sudden thought crossed his mind:
'What if this is like a mana core from a magical beast — and I can get a stat boost or a will, like from the Goliath on the 17th floor, or the Amphisbaena on the 27th?' With that idea in mind, he decided to go deeper into the dungeon, muttering that he'd test it more at home.
Time skip
"Finally," Arthur muttered, clearly exhausted, as he saw the stairs to the second floor.
Already tired from the lack of monsters, he chose to descend even deeper.
Dungeon – 2nd Floor3rd POV
The second floor was nearly identical to the first. Nothing visibly changed.
Arthur moved deeper into the dungeon in search of monsters — and he found them.
Looking up, he saw a brown beast moving on all fours. Preparing his sword, he scanned its stats:
[Name: Dungeon Lizard]
[Level: 6]
[HP: 160/160]
[STR: 5.1]
[VIT: 6.1]
[AGI: 4.5]
[DEX: 3.3]
[MAG: 0]
[WIS: 0]
[LUK: 0]
Seeing its stats, Arthur whistled softly.
Jumping down, the dungeon lizard wasted no time and lunged with its claws.
Arthur sidestepped the attack and stabbed the lizard in the neck.
The lizard tried to bite down on the blade — but failed. Arthur drove the sword deeper, cutting halfway through. Not done yet, he slashed upward, decapitating the dungeon lizard cleanly.
[You killed a Level 6 Dungeon Lizard. You gained 12 EXP.]
As he searched for the magic crystal, a group of goblins and kobolds spawned behind him.
Finally finding the crystal, he stood up and looked toward the group, smiling.
"Well, time for some mass murdering of low-level monsters," he said, conjuring ice daggers.
Without hesitation, he rushed toward them.
1st POV – Arthur
Running at the group, he slashed one goblin, kicked another, punched a kobold, threw a dagger at a second goblin, and so on, and so on…
Time skipGuild Building
"I'd like to trade in my crystals," I said to the guild worker, placing a bag full of them on the counter.
"Please pour them here, and give us a moment to count your crystals," the worker said with a polite smile.
After pouring them out and waiting, the worker returned.
"That'll be 8,400 for 28 goblin crystals, 12,150 for the kobold crystals, and 9,000 for 15 dungeon lizard crystals. In total, you earned 28,550 valis," the worker said, handing me a pouch of coins.
"Thank you," I replied with a polite smile, then walked out of the building.
