As the pounding continued, the door to the room suddenly opened.
A golden-haired man with a stoic face and a dangerous air stepped in and calmly approached Elomont.
There wasn't the slightest hint of embarrassment on his face despite the scene before him. He was clearly accustomed to it.
"There's a problem."
"Hm, what is it?"
Elomont didn't slow, not even sparing him a glance.
"…the high lord you wanted to teach a lesson… he survived."
Elomont's movements halted. He turned toward his ward, Kass, his gaze narrowing.
"…how's that possible?"
"He managed to summon a hunter before the reverents could finish them. The hunter wiped them out."
A chill flickered through Elomont's gaze.
"…do you hear yourself right now?"
The reverent Alpha they had used was at initial level two, with the horde at peak level one. For a newly summoned hunter to defeat such a force was ridiculous.
But Kass' expression didn't shift in the slightest.
"It's what happened. I confirmed it myself."
