Eventually, and when Maizer saw that the looks were getting him nowhere, he finally resorted to threats.
"Do you think you'll live by doing this? You forget who our god was. His lineage." The words made many pause. "The Viscount wouldn't let this slide. This world is doomed. Doomed to fail. And this new god, this child, will lead you all to the pits of hell! He—"
Maizer tried to speak but no words came. He looked to see that Atticus was the one responsible, but he didn't do anything. He couldn't.
"Anyone else?" Atticus asked. By now, a respectable number of people had gathered to the side, promising to abolish their paths.
The others, perhaps influenced by Maizer's words, had chosen to remain. Of the millions, Atticus had gotten only a few thousand.
"Alright."
Just as Maizer was about to ask what Atticus planned on doing to them, he waved his arm and they vanished.
"Dead?" Avalon whispered behind him. But Atticus shook his head. "I don't plan on killing them."
