The room was dark except for the thin strip of moonlight cutting across the bed. Amelia slept on her side, one arm curled protectively around Diego's small form. Our son was tucked against her chest, his tiny breaths barely audible. Both of them were finally at peace after a long, restless night.
I smiled softly and turned away. It was hard to sleep. Whenever I closed my eyes, I would see Amelia's past life vanish before mine. The agony he felt, I could feel it. He was full of such rage at not being able to save her. Would I feel the same way if my wife perished?
No. I wouldn't let that happen. Not again.
I sighed. He had managed to give his world a second chance somehow. That golden light. What was it? It reminded me of the Taeyang's light. But they didn't have the power to recreate a universe. At least, not in the same way as Mirei could.
