"Now's our chance!" Mizore whispered urgently, glancing back at the entrance.
Hyona shot us a quick look, and I could see the tension in her body. "Let's go!" she urged, moving toward the exit.
Kofuyu followed suit while Annie stayed back should the guards notice something was amiss. Together, we crept past the door of the dining hall and hid behind the potted plants, eager to escape the confines of the palace and seize the freedom of the orchard, even if only for a little while.
The guard looked up and glanced at our direction. He frowned and stood up.
"Hey, what card game is this?" Annie asked, pointing at the cards.
The guard chuckled and sat back down. "Think you're too young for card games, little one."
Annie huffed. "How rude! I bet I could beat you at cards!"
