Amelia PoV
"Amelia?" Vadim whispered, his voice a soft murmur against my hair.
"Hmm?" I replied, my eyes half-closed in a blissful haze.
"Do you think we'll ever have a normal life?"
I looked up at him, my brow furrowed in thought. "What do you mean by 'normal'?"
"You know," he said, his fingers tracing circles on my back. "A life without war, without fighting, without... all this chaos. A life where we can just be a family. Where we can wake up in the morning and not have to worry about the fate of the kingdom."
I sighed. He desired to be a farm boy, but I was a queen... "I don't know, Vadim. But maybe once I hand over the throne to Nora, we can try. We'll build ourselves a little house nearby so you can see your mom. I should still be able to have more kids, so we can have a few more."
He smiled, a genuine, warm smile that made my heart skip a beat. "I'd like that. A lot."
