Kira PoV
I stared at the horizon, hands against my chest. Eiro had yet to return. The whole city was on the edge at the possibility of an impending attack.
Hopefully, it was just one man. But, would the attacker really be so cocky to launch an assault when not just one, but two wieldiers of the Seven Hill weapons were gathered?
"Worried about your husband?" Lady Amaya asked, approaching me with her usual grace and poise.
I turned to face her, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach my eyes. "A little. Eiro always seems to find trouble, doesn't he?"
She chuckled softly, her amethyst eyes glinting with understanding. "He's a warrior, Kira. It's in his nature to confront danger head-on. But that's also what makes him who he is."
I sighed, glancing back at the horizon. Usually, I would be fine, but my gut told me he was in trouble.
