Chapter 3 - Love Sometimes Start From Nothingness

Tomoe's heart raced as Du Xulan's embrace grew more intense. The touch of their lips ignited a fire within him, one that he had suppressed for far too long. Thoughts of consequences and societal norms dissolved as desire and longing took over.

For years, Tomoe had admired Du Xulan from a distance, appreciating his dedication and drive. The unspoken connection between them had always lingered, an invisible thread woven through the fabric of their professional lives. But now, with their emotions laid bare, there was no more hiding or pretending.

As their kiss deepened, the weight of their forbidden romance intensified. Du Xulan's hands roamed freely over Tomoe's body, their movements fueling the heat between them. Their encounter, locked away in the confines of the office, became a sanctuary where they could explore the depths of their desires.

But as their passions reached a crescendo, a sharp knock on the door broke the silence. Panic washed over them, their bodies freezing in the moment. They quickly pulled away from each other, adjusting their clothes and attempting to regain their composure.

Du Xulan cleared his throat before calling out, "Come in."

The door creaked open, revealing a young intern holding a stack of papers. "Mr. Du Xulan, I have the reports you asked for."

Du Xulan nodded, his eyes avoiding Tomoe's as he accepted the papers. "Thank you, please leave them on the table."

Once the intern had left, the room fell into an uneasy silence. Tomoe's heart continued to race, his mind racing with thoughts of what had just transpired. He couldn't help but wonder if it was worth risking everything for this forbidden love.

Du Xulan finally turned to face him, his eyes filled with a mixture of regret and longing. "Tomoe, this... this shouldn't have happened. We have so much to lose."

Tomoe, though conflicted, couldn't deny the truth in Du Xulan's words. Their positions within the company were delicate, and their actions could jeopardize not only their careers but the trust of those who looked up to them.

With a heavy sigh, Tomoe nodded. "You're right. We need to be cautious, to protect everything we've worked so hard for."

Du Xulan reached out and gently brushed his fingers against Tomoe's cheek. "Know that my feelings for you are true, but we must find a way to navigate this treacherous path. Let's be patient for now, wait until the time is right."

Tomoe nodded again, this time feeling a mix of relief and a pang of sadness deep within his heart. Love had a way of both illuminating and complicating one's life, and they were now faced with the harsh reality of their situation.

As they composed themselves, Du Xulan straightened his tie and Tomoe smoothed out his blouse, both silent in their thoughts. The echoes of their passion lingered in the air, a reminder of the emotions they had so daringly explored.

And so, they returned to their public personas, the intensity of their romance hidden behind professional masks. But deep down, they knew that the flame they had sparked that night would forever burn within them, a constant reminder of the love that could never be fully realized.
