Soon after, Fang Yan proceeded to demonstrate more operational functions of Jarvis to the two sisters, Guo Xuerong and Guo Yurong.
As an artificial intelligence, its foremost and most significant application is, of course, that of a smart home manager, capable of controlling everything in its vicinity at any given moment.
To meet this purpose, Fang Yan had thoroughly replaced all electronic products with smart equivalents. From smart refrigerators and water heaters to smart TVs, any electronic device capable of connecting to the internet or receiving and transmitting signals fell under Jarvis' domain.
"Wow! This is incredible!" Guo Yurong and her sister couldn't help but exclaim.
Being well-informed individuals themselves, they had already upgraded many of their household furnishings to the latest models in order to keep up with trends. They even had a few electronic products similar to intelligent cleaning robots. Yet, what they were witnessing now was a level of advancement that was still new to them.
However, when they observed Fang Yan easily commanding the water heater to operate with a single sentence, automatically releasing hot water and even maintaining it at a specific temperature, they were left in awe. These functions were a boon, especially for people like them who cherished cleanliness and might want to take a bath multiple times a day.
Moreover, Fang Yan's demonstration included air conditioners, sterilization cabinets, dishwashers, washing machines, and more, all of which could be activated with a single command. Any action, such as adjusting washing machine settings or performing specific modes, could be accomplished with a simple verbal instruction.
Not only that, if you were outside and suddenly wanted to know the status of an electronic device—whether there was a power outage or if you forgot to switch something off—the artificial intelligence could provide accurate information and follow your commands to rectify the situation.
Of course, these conveniences were impressive and greatly improved the quality of life. However, what truly astonished Guo Yurong and the sisters was the fact that Fang Yan's artificial intelligence, named "Jarvis," could engage in normal human-like conversations and chats.
Indeed, Jarvis was not only proficient in gaming jargon like "jungler," "cross-tower killing," and "lane ratio" in the game "King's Glory," but also well-versed in various other domains such as television shows, movies, luxury brands, models, and much more. It could carry on a conversation about virtually anything, offering human-like responses and even injecting humor. Its capabilities were nothing short of extraordinary.
As Guo Yurong put it, if she hadn't known Jarvis was an artificial intelligence, she would have believed she was talking to a knowledgeable expert.
"Xiaoyan, your artificial intelligence is astonishingly powerful! Can you get one for me too?" Guo Xuerong asked Fang Yan with hopeful eyes.
"I want one too! Fang Yan, please help me get one!" Guo Yurong was now fully convinced and awed by the intelligence on display. She couldn't help but desire to have Jarvis for herself. Having such a helpful artificial intelligence by her side could save her a lot of time.
Both sisters looked at Fang Yan with eager anticipation, their eyes filled with longing.
"I'm sorry, this is still a test product in its experimental phase and can't be released to the public."
Fang Yan declined their requests.
Artificial intelligence was already a hot topic in society, and even laypeople could gauge the level of advancement in the field. If any details about the real product were leaked, it could potentially lead to significant consequences. Fang Yan didn't want to draw unnecessary attention or become a target before he had the means to fully protect himself.
His life was currently interconnected with the entire parallel universe. Any harm befalling him could have severe repercussions for the parallel universe as a whole. Therefore, he had to maintain a low profile until he had the strength to confidently stand out.
"It's alright, we don't mind testing it out!" Guo Yurong quickly responded, understanding Fang Yan's concerns. "As long as it works!"
Given the capabilities demonstrated by Jarvis, whether it was a test version or not hardly mattered.
"Xiaoyan, think it over!" Guo Xuerong added, her tone almost coquettish.
Fang Yan, however, remained resolute, shaking his head.
In fact, Fang Yan could have easily provided them with a "scaled-down" version of Jarvis. But the mere fact that Jarvis could engage in human-like conversations and understand information in all languages was already a staggering achievement. Even a scaled-down version would be enough to astonish the world.
"Or how about this? If you install it on my phone, I'll give you a kiss. That's the most generous offer I can make! You'd be gaining a lot!" Guo Yurong attempted to employ charm once again.
Unfortunately for her, Fang Yan was not easily swayed.
His response remained succinct and firm—a shake of his head.
"That won't work, this won't either. Fang Yan, you're a guy, can't you be more generous?" Guo Yurong exclaimed, her frustration evident.
Fang Yan simply shrugged, unswayed by her attempts.
He wasn't pursuing Guo Yurong or her sister, so there was no need for him to appease them just to make them happy.
"Big brother, can I come over to play with Jarvis often?" Qingqing, who had been engrossed in watching Peppa Pig on the sofa, suddenly chimed in.
"Absolutely!"
"Big brother welcomes Qingqing as a guest anytime she wants!" Fang Yan responded with a smile.
"Yay!"
Qingqing's excitement was palpable.
This exchange sparked an idea in Guo Xuerong
's mind.
"Xiaoyan, how about this—since we can't have the artificial intelligence for ourselves, can you grant me some access? For example, could I have it help me prepare the bathwater in advance when I want to take a bath?" Guo Xuerong suggested, her eyes hopeful.
Even if they couldn't personally own the artificial intelligence, being able to experience the convenience it offered would still be a treat.
