My days passed in the routine of going to school in the morning and deteriorating things at the orphanage later in the afternoon.
I could see that the orphanage really spend a lot of money on my practice.
The last day of school arrived...
All the other kids were excited because the vacation was just around the corner.
However, the sad silence between me, Luck, and Stella was suffocating.
All of us were seeing one another for the last time, but the three of us did not know how to handle this situation.
We've been together for ten years as best friends, but now we all have our own paths to follow.
"Hey, what are those sad faces? None of us will die, right?" Stella was the first to break the silence.
"Remember that day we all went to the movie to watch a romance movie just to roll together the faces of people kissing each other with insulating tape?" Stella added, which lightened the mood.
We all laughed a little remembering it. We did it on Valentine's Day because of boredom.
We had seen it with a random couple in the street with a common duct tape and we decided to evolve it to a new whole level.
"I remember being expelled forever from that movie theater..." Luck, said while laughing.
"I never really like that movie anyway," I added.
"Besides, what about the day we made a big mess in the market saying that we were trying to kill a cockroach?" Stella asked again.
That day we went to the market and started to destroy some things just for fun, when they found us out, we just took a dead cockroach that we found in the street and said we were killing it.
"I still don't understand how it worked..." I commented while laughing a little.
"Me neither..." Luck added.
"Hey, it was my plan. It's obvious that would work." Stella said.
"I liked Luck's plans to create a fight in the cafeteria. That he waited for a woman to get in the woman's toilet, and changed the indication board with the men's toilet.
It was just a few minutes before we could see a good show," I said laughing more.
"I always say I'm a genius, It's just that no one believes it!" Luck said jokingly.
"Ethan, was it you who sent a letter saying 'thank you for the night my princess' to one of our seniors that is dating our school's top athlete in the high school?" Lucked asked casually.
"If someone said so, he was laying, and if there is a picture, it's a photo montage," I said jokingly.
We continue to talk like this, remembering our past adventures.
Time pass and we accidentally lost the remaining classes before the break.
When I arrived at the orphanage, sir. Peterson was the first to appear to me and tell me that tomorrow is already the day to go to the military.
It is funny how they wait for the school classes to end even when curse blood people aren't allowed to attend them.
I decided to spend my time with Jeff stead of practicing since I might never see him again after going to the military.
...
The next day...
I woke up as always, took my shower, eat my breakfast, and started to prepare mentally to go to the military.
Should I really go?
What if I pretend to be a normal human for the rest of my life?
Sir. Peterson said that it is impossible...
"Hey, big bro! Are you going already?" Jeff appeared from nowhere and said with a sad face to me.
"Yes, little piece of person. Unfortunately, I have to go." I replied while comforting him.
"You have to come back and see how much my scale grew. Do you promise?" Jeff said with a very cute face.
I now feel even more sad about leaving...
"I promise little one," I replied smiling.
...
After arriving at the military, I had to fill out a form describing my mutation and my cursed power.
How do I explain my mutation? I myself don't understand it.
What should I fill-in?
I will only say I have better oxygenation inside my body compared to normal people.
After that, I was grouped up with the other four cursed blood.
We were left in a small white room together.
About the people grouped with me...
All of them had external mutations.
One of them was a man with horns like an elk.
He has blond hair, blue eyes, dark skin, and a slim body, with small muscles.
The second one was a girl with white angel wings behind her. She has red hair and green eyes.
The third one was also a girl, but this one has pointy bones coming out from her knees and elbows. She has black curly hair, dark skin, and dark eyes.
The fourth one was the most unexpected. He was the one I saw on the day of my fifteen birthday going back to the orphanage from school.
No one dared to exchange any word.
After waiting in silence for a whole hour, a tall and strong old man got inside our room and announce:
"Welcome to the army. You guys have already awakened your power ten years ago, so if you still don't understand how it works, you are simply incompetent above salvation.
Therefore, I want each of you to tell me the following: Name and a brief explanation of your cursed power. Only that, nothing more." The old man said imposingly.
"You start." He added pointing at the elk horne guy.
"Jin Venteron, my cursed power allows me to step in the air." The guy with the elk-like horns said.
"Good, you next," the old man said pointing at the winged girl.
"Sasha Machan, My cursed power allows me to fluctuate, then my wings are enough to allow me to flight as quickly as a bird."
"Understand, next," the old man then pointed at the pointy bone girl.
"Mallory Vandegor, my cursed power allows me to harden my bones."
"Understood, next," the old man then pointed at the red eyes guy.
