Lureya blinked in confusion.
"All along, there have been elves who use a Spirit Contract on strange creatures. For example, last year, there was an elf boy who used the Life Spiritual Technique—that's the magical technique required for the summer homework—to give a paper doll life and then signed a Spirit Contract with it."
"A paper doll is virtual, right?"
"He drew that character on a life-sized doll."
"Such persistent love!"
Lureya was somewhat moved.
"So is there hope for my friend? The one she made a contract with is much better than a paper doll."
Nico crossed her arms.
"Of course, there's hope. Signing a Spirit Contract with ordinary creatures doesn't negatively affect the elf itself; it just wastes the one opportunity for a contract. Actually, as long as it's not a creature outside of the Elf Forest, there's no issue using a Spirit Contract on regular creatures."
