Terry Brown didn't want to be too explicit, so he just gave Anne Bacon a look, urging her to seize the opportunity herself.
He had done everything he could as a matchmaker; now it was up to the parties involved to cooperate.
Anne Bacon pretended not to see Terry's hint and started singing a song on her own.
Wayne Adams sat for a while before deciding to leave early and excused himself.
Seeing this, Terry pushed Anne: "Are you stupid? Will you wait forever if Wayne never gets married? What if Cecelia Anderson never comes back? How long will you wait for him?"
Anne grew irritated: "Don't say anything, don't do anything, that's the best way to help me."
"Fine, keep waiting. I wonder if you'll wait until you're seventy or eighty!"
Anne's thoughts drifted away, finding Terry's words reasonable; she wouldn't give up until she saw Wayne getting married.
However, she knew that even if Wayne never married, she still wouldn't have a chance.
