Edward Anderson left the Hernandezs' feeling disheartened.
He had planned to make a romantic confession to Bella Scott today, but things didn't go as he had imagined. Thinking about the way Linda Stuart and her husband had looked at him, as if he were an unworthy suitor, made him feel frustrated.
It was his own impatience that had gotten him caught off guard, and for the first time in his life, he felt ashamed.
Just then, Martez Parkerr invited him out for drinks, and he happily accepted.
When he arrived, Martez and Kedrick Baker were already drinking.
"What are you doing here?" Edward asked Kedrick.
Kedrick glanced at him: "What do you mean by that? Why can't I be here?"
"Aren't you in Philadelphia? Why did you come all the way here for no reason?" Edward poured himself a drink.
Just as he was about to drink, he suddenly remembered that Bella once told him to take care of his stomach.
