Chapter 768 - Chapter 765 Grill

"When I was coming up just now, I saw Amelia had arrived too. Let's wait a moment," Annie suddenly said.

When she came up earlier, she saw Amelia outside talking with the beastkin on the platform. At this hour, it was obvious she hadn't eaten yet either.

Creak…

As soon as she finished speaking, Amelia pushed the door open and walked in, a look of curiosity on her face.

She knew today was Annie's birthday, so she timed her arrival perfectly for dinner, well aware that birthdays meant there would be cake to eat.

"Come quickly and have a seat!" Lucas looked at Amelia with a smile, patting the chair next to him.

Amelia walked over and sat down beside Lucas, asking in her usual cool tone, "Lord Lucas, what are we eating today?"

"Barbecue." Lucas replied.

"Barbecue?"

Amelia's eyes flickered. She didn't see any charcoal or a traditional grill, so how were they going to barbecue? However, she didn't ask any further, simply waiting quietly for the meal to begin.

Watching everyone take their seats, Lucas waited a moment until the electric grill began emitting heat and steam. This sight immediately drew gasps of amazement from the girls.

"Is this magic?" Lucy stared at the grill with wide eyes, genuinely believing she was witnessing sorcery.

It wasn't just Lucy; Catherine had the exact same reaction.

Lucas chuckled lightly but didn't explain. He picked up a prepared basting brush, dipped it into a bowl of oil, and then brushed a layer over the grill.

Immediately after, he laid the slices of lamb flat onto the grill one by one. In no time at all, the savory aroma of roasting meat began to waft through the air.

Since it was lamb and sliced extremely thin, it only took a few moments on the hot grill to become half-cooked.

Lucas grabbed the seasonings on the side and sprinkled some cumin and chili powder over the lamb.

"Smells so good!" Annie leaned forward, propping herself up on the edge of the table. She stared at the lamb slices Lucas was flipping, audibly gulping.

"Don't be impatient, there's enough for everyone!" Lucas laughed at the fox-eared girl's eager expression.

"This is so magical. You can make barbecue without charcoal or fire, and it smells amazing." Lucy was still in absolute awe, her amazement only growing stronger after smelling the roasted meat.

"This is a barbecue grill. It can roast meat because of electricity. The Master said there are coils inside the grill..." Nicole explained from the side, trying to describe how it worked.

Lucas had told her this beforehand. Although she still didn't fully understand the underlying principles, she simply repeated what he had said.

The others all wore expressions of partial comprehension, clearly a bit baffled.

However, they had already grasped the concept of electricity—it was basically a new energy source. This grill needed electricity to work, just like the lightbulbs in the castle.

Lucas had warned them that electricity was extremely dangerous. A moment of carelessness could lead to an electric shock, which could even be fatal.

Because of this, they were all incredibly careful up to now. None of them dared to be reckless around anything related to electricity.

"Master, is it ready to eat yet?" While everyone else was listening to Nicole's explanation, Annie kept her eyes glued exclusively to the roasted lamb in front of Lucas.

"It's ready. There's plenty for everyone." Lucas looked at Annie and chuckled. This fox-eared girl was as gluttonous as ever.

Before Lucas could even finish his sentence, Annie shot her chopsticks forward, snatching the piece of roasted lamb closest to her.

Without even waiting for the heat to dissipate, she shoved it whole into her mouth.

"Hot, hot, hot! But it's so good~~" Annie opened her mouth, furiously fanning it with one hand while mumbling incoherently, her eyes filled with delight.

"Ah! Annie, that's so sneaky!" Seeing Annie's actions, Mina's hands weren't slow either. She snatched a piece and shoved it into her own mouth, terrified that if she hesitated for even a second, there would be none left for her.

Seeing this, the rest of the group instantly joined the scramble, even Lucy.

She had already gotten used to this kind of dining atmosphere. If she wasn't sharp, she probably wouldn't get a single bite!

"That's mine!" Annie puffed her cheeks, glaring angrily at the scrambling group. She had only managed to eat one piece, and in the blink of an eye, the grill was already completely empty.

"Stop fighting over it, we can grill more after you finish these!" Lucas looked at the empty grill in front of him, shaking his head with a helpless laugh.

"Master, let me do it." Seeing Lucas nod, Nicole took the grilling tongs from him.

"Nicole, I want beef," Annie said from the side, her fox ears twitching as she pointed at the beef.

"I want grilled mushrooms and grilled ham," Amelia said from her seat beside Lucas, her eyes filled with anticipation.

"Alright, do you want it spicy?" Nicole asked with a smile, placing the mushrooms and ham onto the grill.

"Just a little bit." Amelia held up a single finger, then swallowed hard, her eyes locked onto the mushrooms and ham on the grill. These hams were made under Lucas's orders; he had provided the recipe and production methods, and this ingredient was already being served at the Drunken Night.

Catherine watched the lively group around the table, a flicker of gloom passing through her eyes. Suddenly, the roasted meat in her mouth didn't taste quite as appetizing.

She kept casting glances at Lucas, looking as if she wanted to say something but was holding back. Ultimately, after seeing the joyful, laughing faces of Annie and the others, she swallowed whatever words she had wanted to speak.

From the corner of his eye, Lucas noticed Catherine and took in the entire scene. He knew exactly why she was acting like this, but since Catherine hadn't spoken up, it wasn't appropriate for him to bring it up either.

"It's my birthday today, and you guys are still fighting me for the food so fiercely!" Annie suddenly got smart, knowing exactly how to use her special day to her advantage.

Then, propping herself against the table with one hand, her other hand swiftly snatched up a piece of grilled beef, dipped it into the sauce in front of her, and stuffed it into her mouth.

These dipping sauces had been mixed by Lucas himself, containing minced garlic, chili, cilantro, soy sauce, and other ingredients. It was a classic Earth-style way of eating, and it was absolutely delicious.

Seeing her expression of pure satisfaction, the others helplessly rolled their eyes. Their food-snatching slowed down—after all, it was Annie's birthday today, so it was only right to let her have a bit more.

"Hmph, only for today!" Mina let out a dissatisfied scoff, her eyes locked onto the remaining meat on the grill.

Amelia, however, couldn't care less if it was the fox-eared girl's birthday or not. Minding her own business, she picked up her ham and mushrooms, taking a sip of cola with every bite of ham, looking thoroughly satisfied.

She needed to get the wings on her back to grow in fully as quickly as possible. Only then would she be able to rely on her own wings to soar freely through the sky, just like her older sister.

"Oh right, Annie, this is my birthday gift for you!" Mina suddenly remembered something. She pulled a wrapped bag from behind her back and handed it to the fox-eared girl.
