Chapter 608 - Chapter 605 Bow

"Splash, splash..."

On the Whispering River, a fifty-meter-long ship was sailing, the waves crashing rhythmically against its hull.

"Master, we will be back in Sedona City by tomorrow," Mina said, looking at Lucas, who was sitting at the bow. It had been two days since they finished negotiations with the Chief, followed by a half-day discussion with Martin, the Lord of Riverden City, before beginning their return journey.

"Mn. Have our people keep a close watch on the Tribe's movements," Lucas said, gazing quietly at the rippling river water.

"Yes," Mina nodded. She knew the Master was worried the tribe wouldn't follow the requirements, which could cause variables in his future plans.

"Master, is Camilla the Lord of Riverden City now?" Ayesha asked curiously, tilting her head. Camilla hadn't returned to Sedona City with them this time.

"Yes, that was her own decision," Lucas nodded, speaking softly. "Don't worry. If you want to see her in the future, you can always go visit her. Besides, she can also come to Sedona City to visit you."

"Then... then won't Camilla be unable to eat delicious food anymore?" Ayesha frowned. Her concern was still focused on what Camilla would eat; after all, she knew just how tempting the food in Sedona City was.

"Rest assured, the Master left a chef behind for her," Mina flicked her wrist and said lightly. "However, that tribe Chief was interesting; she actually wanted a chef, too."

During the negotiations, Perry had mentioned asking Lucas to help train a few chefs, but Lucas had politely declined, using a shortage of spices as an excuse.

In reality, Sedona City really was short on spices. Things like bay leaves, cinnamon, and star anise were in short supply.

However, vegetable-based seasonings were plentiful, such as green onions, ginger, garlic, and chili peppers. They had harvested a huge pile from the greenhouses. The chilies, in particular, had been made into chili sauce and dried chilies, with some even being sold in the market, though the price was quite expensive.

"That's good then," Ayesha sighed in relief. In a short time, Camilla had become good friends with many people in the castle. The cow-horned girl's straightforward nature made it easy for her to make friends.

"Coo, coo..."

Birdsong came from overhead. Mina looked up to see a pigeon flying into the small wooden coop on the mast. She immediately ordered someone to go up and retrieve the message from the bird.

Soon, a sailor climbed the mast, retrieved the note, and handed it to Mina. She opened it, glanced at it, and her expression changed slightly. She hurriedly reported to Lucas, "Master, Annie sent a message. Amelia's older sister has arrived. They met each other today."

"Oh? She's finally here?" Lucas's lips curled up slightly as he waved his hand. "A few days earlier than expected."

"Master, is Amelia's sister here to take her away?" Ayesha asked in surprise, her long purple hair fluttering in the wind.

"Nine times out of ten, yes," Lucas said indifferently, staring quietly at the river water, his eyes shimmering.

"Ah? Then what do we do?" Ayesha took a step forward, looking a bit anxious.

"Don't be nervous. Amelia won't necessarily leave," Lucas waved his hand, speaking with confidence. "Who knows, she might even persuade her sister to stay."

"That's true. It's so good in Sedona City. As long as Amelia's sister isn't stupid, she'll definitely want to stay," Ayesha agreed.

Mina rolled her eyes. Is it really that simple? Someone who could train a child as young as Amelia to be an assassin would certainly have many tricks up her sleeve. She feared some trouble was bound to happen.

"As long as Amelia doesn't want to leave, no one can force her," Lucas looked up at the gloomy sky. It looks like it's going to rain tonight.

"Master, didn't you want to cooperate with the birdkin before?" Mina asked hesitantly. She knew part of the Master's plan required aerial power.

"Mn. Before that thing is manufactured, we indeed need the help of the birdkin," Lucas said plainly.

He was referring to airships. He planned to bring equipment from Earth to produce the most crucial component—helium—but the massive frame and other parts would need to be researched and built by people here.

Technology in this world—land, sea, and air—was advancing simultaneously. Lucas's ambitions were vast; he couldn't stand the idea of taking a boat for ten days just to travel far.

"My Lord, there is someone ahead!" Shouted the observer on the mast. "There is someone in the water."

"Distance?" Mina shouted back.

"About two thousand meters," The observer immediately reported.

"Oh? Someone in the water? Let's go take a look," Lucas waved his hand. Did someone drown?

"Yes." Mina made a hand gesture, and someone immediately steered the large ship toward where the person was spotted.

A few minutes later, the ship arrived at the location.

"Eh? It's a woman?" Lucas raised an eyebrow, looking at the person floating face down, long blue hair rippling on the water's surface.

"Face down... she's probably dead, right?" Ayesha frowned. The woman was arched, back facing up, with her entire head submerged. No matter how you looked at it, it was impossible for her to still be alive.

"Master, should we fish her out?" Mina narrowed her eyes, staring intently at the woman's back, where there was a palm-length wound.

"Fish her out," Lucas pondered for a moment, then turned to Elisa, who was fiddling with a ballista nearby. "Aim at her. If there is any strange movement, fire immediately."

It was better to be cautious. It would be terrifying if something strange suddenly popped up; he had seen plenty of movie plots play out exactly like that.

"Yes," Elisa immediately began operating the ballista. On this trip, she had basically just been tagging along for the ride.

"I'm going then." Mina tied a rope around her waist, loosened up her limbs, and stood lightly on the ship's railing. She leaped up, spun in the air, and dove into the water. Surfacing quickly, she swam toward the figure.

The cat-eared girl was like an agile fish. Within a minute, she reached the woman. She watched the floating figure vigilantly for a moment, and seeing no movement, she reached out to support the woman and flipped her over.
