Chapter 375 - Chapter 372

"This is..." Lucas stared blankly at the Amos Notes the cat-eared girl was holding high. So the one who had casually snatched it away… was actually Mina?

"Young Master, this is really valuable too," Mina blinked her beautiful eyes and said proudly, "I just grabbed it on the way out."

"You really went above and beyond," Lucas said with a wry smile. No wonder she'd been ambushed—she had actually stolen the Amos Notes and brought it back like it was no big deal.

Looking at the beaming cat-eared girl, Lucas reached out with his left hand to take the Amos Notes, while his right hand gently pinched her cheek and tugged lightly, speaking softly, "Next time, don't take such risks."

"Mm-hmm," Mina nodded seriously. She knew the young master was worried about her safety. It was just that she'd seen how interested he was in Amos's notes, so she had taken the chance to grab them.

"Go wash up," Lucas said gently, giving her cheek one last affectionate rub before letting go.

"Okay," Mina replied, blushing as she nodded and walked toward the bathroom with light, graceful steps.

Lucas watched Mina's disappearing figure for a moment before walking over and sitting down in a chair. He curiously examined the Amos Notes in his hand. He was indeed very curious about what was recorded in it.

"Huh? These pages are all unreadable," Lucas flipped to the last few pages of the notebook, only to find them completely black, as though someone had intentionally made it impossible to read.

Not dwelling on it too much, Lucas started reading from the beginning. He became absorbed in it, as if reading an adventure novel, filled with excitement and speculation as the notes unfolded.

"I entered the Forbidden Mountains on the 456th day. After such a long period of survival, I thought nothing would surprise me anymore, but the sight of the Field of Bones before me still terrified me…" Lucas silently read aloud.

Field of Bones? What kind of place was that? A place where animals died en masse? A result of magnetic fields? Or poisoning? Lucas pondered, his mind racing with guesses.

The Amos Notes was filled with personal analyses, thoughts about family, and descriptions of mental states. It was a vivid account, but much of it consisted of small fragments, with entries sometimes written days apart—seven or eight days, in some cases.

"Young Master, it's time to eat," Nicole said softly as she set down the tray. "You can look at it after you finish eating."

"Alright." Lucas rubbed his brow and closed the Amos Notes. It contained many fascinating details that piqued his interest. He thought he might explore it further sometime in the future.

"Young Master, your blood?" Nicole blinked in surprise, noticing the bloodstains on Lucas's chest. He hadn't had any blood on him earlier.

"It's from Mina," Lucas raised an eyebrow and changed the subject. "Has the kitchen prepared dinner for the War Wolves?"

"It's already done. They're eating now." Nicole's eyes flickered with understanding. She was sure the two of them were likely cozying up again.

"Clip-clop, clip-clop…"

Mina, wearing slippers and drying her hair with a towel, entered. Her eyes lit up when she saw the fish on the table. "Fish again!"

"Go ahead and eat," Lucas said with a light chuckle. After she took her first bite, he noticed how the cat-eared girl got completely absorbed in her meal. Watching her eat so eagerly made him unconsciously eat a little more than usual.

Twenty minutes later, around 10 o'clock, the dinner was finished. The three of them slumped in their chairs, completely stuffed.

They sat in silence for a few minutes before Nicole broke the stillness. "Young Master, was that the Amos Notes just now?"

"Yes," Lucas glanced at the thick parchment book on the table.

"Then..." Nicole hesitated, her gray eyes flashing with a hint of concern. She lowered her head slightly and asked softly, "Young Master, will you be going to search for the 'Divine Heavenly Kingdom' in the future?"

Nicole had heard from her father since she was young that every year countless people set out in search of the 'Divine Heavenly Kingdom,' but most never return—all of them disappearing without a trace.

"If it's an adventure, then I should go," Lucas nodded. After all, there were a few places in the Amos Notes that were quite intriguing.

"Then... can you take me with you?" Nicole looked up, her gaze steady as she spoke seriously. "I can cook for you, Young Master."

In her understanding, searching for the 'Divine Heavenly Kingdom' had a fifty percent chance of meaning a permanent farewell. Not only were the dangers along the way severe, but if they truly found the 'Divine Heavenly Kingdom,' it meant they would never come back.

"I want to go too," Mina raised her hand. She suddenly regretted bringing the Amos Notes back. She should have let those other people fight over the path and the treasure instead.

"Alright, we'll all go together," Lucas said gently. He hadn't thought much about it, considering it was still a distant future.

"Mm-hmm." Nicole sighed in relief, a smile returning to her face.

"..." Lucas was helpless. It seemed the two of them still believed in the existence of the 'Divine Heavenly Kingdom,' or perhaps, they simply preferred to believe in it rather than dismiss it.

"Knock knock knock~" The sound of knocking echoed from outside the cabin.

Lucas narrowed his eyes, handing the Amos Notes to Nicole. After she quickly hid it, he called out toward the door, "Come in."

"Creak~~"

The door opened, and Five dragged a person inside, throwing him onto the deck. "Master, this is the person who's been following us."

"Huh? Isn't this the one who was hiding in the rafters?" Nicole said in surprise.

Lucas raised an eyebrow and said calmly, "Tell me, who sent you? Why have you been following us?"

The tavern worker remained silent, clearly in a difficult position. Being caught meant he couldn't deny it now. The reason he had been following them was simple—his instincts told him that these people were definitely connected to the missing Amos Notes.

"Not talking?" Lucas said quietly.

The tavern worker remained silent. He knew that if he said anything, it would only lead to his death.

"Take him away and lock him up. We'll interrogate him in a few days," Lucas waved his hand, having already figured out that this man had been specially trained. It would take some time to break him.

"Yes, Master," Five replied respectfully.
