Chapter 4 - Tiger.

An unspecified amount of time later, only one figure could be seen standing in a heap of corpses.

A teenager of average height with magenta hair, green eyes and an incredibly lean build.

Of course, this was Han.

Everyone in the small room had perished, leaving one sole survivor. Somehow, he had walked out of this situation alive and in good shape.

"Huuu....now how do I leave this place?"

Looking around in the darkness, Han ran his hands along the wall, hoping to find an opening somewhere.

And before long, he got his wish. Finding another long opening, Han slowly made his way down the hallway, continuing to run his hand down the wall as he moved.

Before long, sounds of fighting entered his ear, causing him to raise an eyebrow.

"Don't tell me..."

Walking into an opening, Han saw several high-level martial artists, not dissimilar to the small room he was just in, fighting to the death.

There wasn't a moment to think. The moment they noticed him, a man approached Han with a strange movement technique, transitioning into a reverse roundhouse kick in one motion.

'Lowest Hwechook.'

Hwechook was a kick that has gathered force through rapidly spinning on a central point.

In layman's terms, it was just a roundhouse kick which targeted the upper body that built power from rapid rotations before execution.

But, Han was using a variation of this technique.

With incredible speed, Han dug his feet into the ground, ducked under the man's kick and span 180 degrees, executing a sweep kick that razed the ground as it picked the man up off his feet.

'Dragon Catcher.'

Continuing the spin, Han used his leg to grab the man by his neck as he was falling, spinning rapidly while using his other leg to jump into the air.

SWOOSH!

Moving away from the man, Han didn't even look at him as his body continued to spin rapidly, eventually falling down head first into the ground, leaving a small crater in his wake.

Another two men approached this time, eager to take out the newbie that had interrupted their battle.

'Niko Style: Smash.'

'Plunging Ax.'

The two men attacked with their own martial arts, both of them leaving Han impressed with their incredible skill. There was no doubt that they had trained day in and day out to accumulate such proficiency.

As such, Han could only respond in kind.

'Hyperspeed, Double Strikes.'

Using his opponents momentum combined with his own, Han landed two almost imperceptible side kicks that sent both opponents flying backwards, immediately knocking them out.

'I can't stop here.'

Han continued to fight, honing his skills with each battle. In no time, he cleared another room, leaving nothing but bloodied, dead corpses.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the end. The battles felt endless as he went from room to room, eventually racking up injuries of his own.

He felt as if he was going mad in the darkness.

All he did was fight. It just felt endless.

Eventually, something started to click. An idea started to take form.

He was in a cramped space, with foreign martial artists all attacking in various ways, expressing their arts to their fullest potential, exposing his shattered mind and tired body to new ways of survival.

So when he came up against an opponent that gave him a challenge, something in Han snapped.

His pupils disappeared, making him seem as if he was in a trance.

Han started using moves from MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ, Systema, Wing Chun, Boxing, and several more.

Every move that he had seen throughout his experience in this cave came to light, making it seem as if he was using a martial art without form.

This unlocked a different, hidden kind of ferocity and sadisticness that caused him to frequently tear opponents apart with their own techniques.

Integrating this new 'martial art' with his Taekwondo was like second nature to him, turning him into a different beast all together.

An unspecified amount of time later, a large metal door opened somewhere on the outskirts of Tokita Ward. At the crack of dawn, a figure could be seen stumbling out, covered in blood as he crawled along the ground, collapsing while the morning sun washed over him.

A figure that was leaning on a nearby wall revealed a wide smile as he saw this scene.

"Who the hell is this kid? I don't remember training a little runt like this. If he came outta there alive...then, he's proven that he was better than my students that I trained with my own hands. Ha! Well then! Let's see what this runt is all about!"

About a week later, Han jolted out of his sleep, looking around to find himself laying at a campsite in a forest.

"Urgh...what the hell? Where am I?"

"You're with your new master now, kid."

A quiet, but gruff voice suddenly caused him to look behind him, revealing a tall man with savage, animalistic features.

Han immediately jumped away in an effort to make space between them, but the man closed the distance with ease.

'Baek Rok.'

Han stomped on the ground, stopping his own momentum and increasing his force as he sent out an upwards kick at the man's jaw.

SWOOSH!

The man easily dodged to the side, but Han turned the kick that missed into a grab around the man's neck with his knee joint, flipping the man over with incredible ease.

"Ha!"

The man laughed as he grabbed Han by the leg and reversed the 'flow of power', smashing him down face first on the ground instantaneously.

It was as if the man was never caught in the first place.

"I see how my students lost against you now. You use an odd form of Taekwondo that I've never seen before. I'm...interested in how far you can take it!"

Han spat out blood as he stumbled to his feet, standing in the basic Renewal Taekwondo stance. It was simple, just the left leg placed in front of the right, in a wide stance with the upper body turned to the side.

This enabled maximum readiness against all opponents, something Han would need against this man.

"I have no intentions of being your student. I've already conquered the hell that was those rooms...I will not slow down now."

The man folded his arms, laughed savagely once again and replied, "Don't be so quick to reject this offer, runt. I've already sniffed out your weaknesses and your...strengths. You learned my Formless Stance in the Gu ritual didn't you? I can see that madness in your eyes. I can feel the flow in your kicks."

Han was taken aback by the man's words.

'His Formless Stance? So this martial art was his technique?'

Han nodded, unsure where the man would take this conversation next.

"As I thought. You're talented, boy. But the Formless Stance doesn't suit you. No, you lack the build and power to utilize it to its fullest. As such, I know what I will teach you."

Han was still confused by all of this. Why was this man so intent on teaching him? They barely knew each other.

"Why me?"

"Tsk. I already answered that one, kid. I just wanna see how far you can go if I gave you a little 'push'."

Han deliberated on it a little more before eventually giving into his own curiosity. He had to see what this man was about, what made him so confident.

"Then, show me this power you're so proud of. What should I call you?"

The man threw his cloak to the side and cracked his neck, saying, "Call me Tokita Niko. And I will show you the power that is the Niko Style."

[A/N: No, MC will not just be a Niko Style merchant. I'm just planning to make it a combined martial art with his Taekwondo. I think it'll be pretty sick.]
