The Gentle Giant prepared his cores once more, as he'd follow the Sniper's eyes, watching to see if the glint was visible. Even in those few minutes, nothing happened. It was sentient enough to restrain its shot. The two fighters shared a glance at one another. At most, they'd need to bear with its intrusion, however such an intrusion would only act as a cheat in the battle. To Bronx, it would feel like it goes against the point of a duel between two opponents. To Volvo, it feels sickly to have such an advantage solely because of what the Sniper IS rather than what he DOES. Once the two gave their silent agreement, Volvo rushes in. Something different, however, occurred once Bronx noticed his approach. That small shift would have him leap upwards and hang against the walls, setting up a broader barrel to block out whatever projectile or direct attack he has prepared.
Each core that was within Volvo's body began to change color. The patterns of what they represent are the same, but they illuminate as if they were charging, the visible damage across his skin as he tries to empower it. It wasn't until he threw that punch that the battle shifted dramatically. Escaping from his arms was a volley, a stampede of such flying beasts, harnessing each other's boons and swirling around, both as an act of damage and restraint. Even as he shot his bullet, Bronx would be overwhelmed and pinned into the wall, watching the bullet bounce around and about, letting it shift in each bounce to aim for the Giant's body. Volvo would be forced to back away and lessen his blow, seeing that both were back on the impasse once more. Despite the overwhelming might, the Sniper would be able to shove off such raw energy, letting him land himself back down on the ground, collapsing somewhat, seeing the blood dribble down from underneath his uniform. With heavy breath, he'd try to get himself up, quickly seeing the glint and pushing himself off to the side in order to avoid the laser, using his barrel to reflect the light and let it collide with his maneuvering bullet, allowing both to intersect and catch Volvo in a pincer formation. The Gentle Giant merely raised his arm and punched the very light itself, scattering it, letting the cores refract it back as it scatters and splits, singing off the buildings parts and giving small attention towards the outside. "That was... Huff... Your Final Gambit, wasn't it...?" Bronx asked, out of breath as he'd struggle to get up.
To his shock, Volvo merely shook his head. "It was simply using more energy on my Cores to create a stronger visual on what was inside. Think of them as your own bullets." A small smile was on his gentle face, prompting Bronx to laugh silently and hang his head back.
"Another... Damn detail... The Devil forgot to tell me." He'd regain his strength once he'd take in the setting sun's smiling rays, before getting up properly and taking aim, another three shots sent out. One of his cores trigger, hiding away around his shoulder and upper arm: The Hummingbird. His eyes darted faster and faster, letting him maneuver and punch each bullet, being careful as to not let his body get in direct contact so he doesn't trigger the Contract Magic. For each bullet, he'd punch it again and again, effectively moving such bullets back to sender whilst forcing Bronx to commit more of his energy behind it. No matter how much he tried, however, the faster speed to force such maneuvers of his own artillery isn't going to be of much use. He'd back himself away, watching as the Glint came back once more, seeing the disadvantage of the situation.
Rather than hate it, he'd smile.
Rather than regret, he was hoping they'd try another assassination.
Volvo immediately picked up what he was trying and forced to back himself away, but it wasn't enough. As soon as such beams came, Bronx bent himself backwards, taking his gun and firing it at the source. Not only was he able to land a direct hit on the shooter, but the light would be able to refract against all three bullets, letting it chain together like a web, both ensnaring and burning at his body, watching as the Core's began to heat up, a weakness for the Sniper to work with. "As I thought. Buried in his skin so much would let him get access easier to his spells... but the burns he'd get if they were in any way damaged would be more effective. They should be no deeper than around his veins and blood stream if he wants to carry the energy directly. Last time I checked, that's a guaranteed death if those veins were ever damaged. Coagulation would do the rest for me at that moment. Either he'd have to give up his arms and no longer fight me with those... or he dies with them."
To say that Volvo was impressed is an understatement, as he'd be forced to expel his energy once again, the swarm of such beasts forcing them out, damaging his body to a result yes, but not enough to go for a lethal blow. At the same time, The Sniper got a proper confirmation on who was attacking him: A Hieroglyph of a small, round-like figure, adorning a white sheet as if they were a cartoon ghost, with two big eyes going cross with one another after taking a bullet to its head. "So it is him... The 2nd Shadow Mage from Sozo's army... Khonum Opolis. My only question, though... is why??" His mind rattled as he identified the member's traces, as he'd prepare another shot and used the barrel to slam onto the ground and push him back up. Right as he was about to meet the Giant face-to-face again and prepare against his tricks...
PEW! PEW! PEW!!
Three lasers. The Hieroglyph wasn't there alone. Two across his neck, one through his chest. Even though the latter missed his heart, the formers were dead-on in striking across such wounds. His eyes widened as he was snuck upon and struck down, blood pouring from the injuries, the barrels quickly acting to replace such shots.
Was this it? Was he finally going to die?
