Chapter 18 - The Council of Nasca

In the council chamber of the Nasca Kingdom's palace, a great round table sat at its center. Around it gathered figures whose very presence could shatter not just nations, but the entire world.

Rudra Nam Ul Nasca, the Emperor, sat with shoulders heavy under grief.

Beside him, Velgrynd, the Scorching Flame Dragon.

Across from them lounged Guy Crimson, the Red Primordial Demon, far too casually for the moment.

At his side, serene yet dangerous, sat Velzard, the Frost Dragon.

Behind Guy stood Misery, the Green Primordial, her expression unreadable.

The chamber lay in tense silence—until a teleportation portal ripped open. From it stepped Veldora, and stumbling behind him, Rain, nearly tripping over her own skirt.

---

Guy (grinning):

"Heh. So you finally came."

Veldora (short, blunt):

"Yes."

Velgrynd (snapping):

"Idiot! Why did you take so long?"

Veldora (grumbling, glancing sideways at Rain):

"It wasn't my fault. Someone messed up the teleport."

Rain (flailing, defensive):

"H-hey! Don't blame me! You're like a magical black hole—do you know how hard it is to stabilize a portal around you?!"

Veldora (snorting):

"Excuses."

Rain (pouting, muttering):

"Stupid dragon…"

Misery (cold, flat):

"Rain. Shut up."

Rain squeaked, straightened her dress, and fell silent.

Veldora took his seat—between Rudra and Guy—storms faintly crackling around him.

The council was now complete.

---

Rudra's voice broke the silence, low and hoarse.

Rudra:

"You all know why we are here. Master Veldanava… and my sister, Lucia. Gone. Dead—struck down in my own kingdom."

His fist slammed against the table, cracking the obsidian surface.

Velgrynd leaned closer, her fiery aura wrapping around his grief. She placed her hand gently over his.

Velgrynd (soft, steady):

"Rudra… do not bear this alone. We all share this sorrow. Do not drown in grief by yourself."

For a heartbeat, Rudra's fury stilled under her warmth.

Guy leaned forward, smirk sharp as a blade.

Guy (mocking):

"My, my. Velgrynd, comforting your beloved? Should I leave you two alone?"

Velgrynd flushed, sparks crackling around her.

Velgrynd (snapping):

"Say that again, tomato head, and I'll burn you alive!"

Guy chuckled, thoroughly entertained.

Thwack!

Velzard's palm smacked the back of his head, frost spreading across the table.

Velzard (cold glare):

"Enough. Mock them again and I'll freeze your tongue solid."

Guy rubbed his head, crimson eyes glinting—but softer now.

Guy (low, amused):

"Heh. Fierce as ever, Velzard."

Velzard turned her face away, hiding the faintest blush.

Veldora snorted, golden eyes flicking between them.

Veldora (grinning):

"Oho? Tomato Head and Big Sister Velzard? Didn't expect that pairing."

Velzard's icy aura spiked instantly.

Velzard (snapping):

"Shut up, you idiot!"

The chamber rumbled faintly with suppressed laughter—until Rudra's voice cut through again, raw with rage.

---

Rudra (growling, half-rising from his seat):

"If even the Creator himself can die… what hope does this world have!?

How can I call myself Emperor, when my master—my brother-in-law—was struck down under my watch!? When my twin sister lies cold in her grave!?"

His aura erupted, searing the chamber.

Velgrynd pressed her hand firmly against his arm, her fiery aura clashing with his, tempering it.

Velgrynd (fierce, protective):

"Enough. You are not at fault. Do not destroy yourself with grief, Rudra."

But deep within Rudra's soul, a voice whispered:

Order must prevail. Justice must be absolute. All chaos must be purged.

It was the Unlimited Skill—Michael, Lord of Justice.

And none of them noticed.

Velzard finally spoke, calm and cold.

Velzard:

"Big Brother Veldanava was the Creator. A True Dragon. He is immortal. He has only died temporarily. In time… he will return. And when he does, I am sure he will restore Lucia as well."

Velgrynd nodded quickly, seizing the thought.

Velgrynd:

"Yes. Our brother cannot vanish so easily."

Even Rudra faltered, hope flickering in his eyes.

Guy leaned back, smirking.

Guy:

"Of course. The world isn't nearly fun enough without him."

They all clung to that fragile belief.

All except Veldora.

The Storm Dragon's storms dimmed, his golden gaze shadowed. He alone knew the truth—from his merge with the otherworlder, Sandeep.

Veldanava would not return. Not now. Not ever.

But he stayed silent.

---

The conversation shifted.

Guy (serious now):

"And the girl? Milim Nava. Should Velzard and I take her with us?"

Velzard & Velgrynd (together, sharply):

"No."

Velzard:

"Although Milim is my niece, I cannot take her in. Guy and I dwell in the Ice Palace with only Rain, Misery, and a handful of subordinates. She would be isolated there. I believe Rudra and Velgrynd should care for her."

Velgrynd:

"Yes. Milim should stay in the Nasca Kingdom, among its people. At least here, she will not be alone."

Rudra (hoarse, resolute):

"Hmmm. Even if Velgrynd and I are called away by war, she will still be cared for by her servants. She will know warmth."

Guy (teasing again, lips curling):

"Heh. You two already sound like doting parents."

Velgrynd flushed scarlet. Rudra stiffened.

Thwack! Velzard smacked Guy's head again.

Velzard (snapping):

"Shut. Up."

Guy only laughed, crimson eyes gleaming with mischief.

Then Veldora leaned forward suddenly.

Veldora:

"What if I take Milim with me?"

Everyone turned to him in deadpan silence before answering in unison:

All:

"No!"

Veldora (pouting):

"Why not…?"

Guy:

"First, you're a troublemaker."

Velgrynd:

"Second, you don't even have a home. You live in a cave."

Velzard:

"Third, you spend all your time alone in the forest. She'd be just as isolated with you as she would with me."

Veldora (grumbling):

"Fine, fine…"

And so, it was decided:

Milim would remain in Nasca, under the care of Rudra and Velgrynd.

Yet as the council adjourned, shadows lingered.

Rudra's grief festered, whispered to by Michael.

Beyond their walls, the Super Sorcery Kingdom forged new weapons of war, razing nations in their wake.

To be continued…

Author's Note:

If Veldora did get custody of Milim, she'd probably end up grounded in a cave… literally.
